Something permeates every part of us. It affects how we look at ourselves and at others. It’s what we feel when we’ve made a mistake but won’t admit it. It’s what lashes out when there’s no real basis for battle. It can blind you into thinking the world owes you an apology—or that God does. To sum it up simply: pride is that very present feeling that you’re just a cut above others. Speaking to those who felt they were impregnable, Obadiah warns us of the destructive nature of our pride.
